Five states have no plumbing license at all
This surprises most people. Plumbing licensing is a state power, and Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, New York, Pennsylvania and Wyoming delegate it entirely to cities and counties. In those states a plumber licensed in one town may have no standing at your address, and there is no state board to check with.
